Steve Oatney, illustrator & designer, has been doing professional graphic design for over 15 years, but has been drawing for as long as he can remember. Colorado State University is where he received his Bachelor's of Fine Art. His widespread work in marketing and advertising includes designs for Disney, Warner Bros, Lucasfilm, DC Comics, Marvel, Microsoft, Sony Entertainment, Wal-Mart, Pepsi, Dr Pepper/7-up, Kellogg's, and the United States Olympic Committee.

Oatney's illustration client list is not quite as robust, but it is ever-growing as his second career love. His lifelong love of sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, and comic-books led him into projects like Bloodlines, a futuristic vampire story he created and wrote for his best friend, and fellow artist, Monte Moore. Illustrations by Steve can be found published in the RPGs including Fantasy Imperium by Imperium Games and Heaven & Earth by Guardians of Order.

Steve's fine-art, and commissioned work, is typically figurative and/or character based. His passion "draws" upon human-expression and form. Most often, Steve works in black and white conte on Canson, typically working at 22" x 28" size. Graphite, charcoal, and ink are some of his other favorite mediums.

Recently, Steve has followed in his father's footsteps as an amateur-turned-professional photographer. With no formal training in traditional, nor digital, photography, Steve is finding new passion from behind the lens of a camera.

Oatney resides in colorful Colorado, where he has spent most of his life, a stone's throw away from the majestic Rocky Mountains.

Steve's favorite quote: "Find out who you are, and do it on purpose." - Dolly Parton
